Ryan Fieldhouse & Walter Athletics Center | Northwestern University

NW_diagram.png

The Walter Athletic Facility is a newly constructed sports practice and training building comprised of state-of-the-art media and gym facilities and an indoor football field. We were asked to create a rich platform that presented current athletic content as a uniquely compelling experience and could be consistently updatable for the future.

Using both a shared content management platform and elegantly designed media templates deployed across each interactive footprint, Potion created a unique experience to engage and excite potential athletes interested in Northwestern.

A) All Sports and Football Walls

The All Sports and Football walls utilize a book spline motif for sport navigation and open up to present more detailed information on a given topic. Both walls use the same content management system containing layout templates so that content can be changed and added to by Northwestern staff. Content included in each category is diverse ranging from photo and video galleries, current and alumni rosters, and hand written letters with fullscreen take-over capability.

B) Media Tower

The Media Tower displays custom filmed linear content utilizing templates to layout traditional 4K video and message copy. As with the All Sports and Football Walls, the creation of these assets is built into the same CMS platform.

C) Hall of Honor

The Hall of Honor is an installation designed for potential Northwestern Football recruits. The wall is a dynamic display of current NFL players and football alumni as well as calling attention to Northwestern’s commitment to academics among its student athletes. Two thin bezel displays comprise one of the Hall of Honor columns. Custom media templates are provided to organize and layout shared and custom content in a magazine style format.
