About

I grew up on a tiny farm in Ohio. Childhood was a hinterland of earthy connection to creeks and horses juxtaposed with a wild desire for the dusty VHS in the back of the video store titled The Best of Liquid Television. This strangeness lead to an education in architecture and a passion for motion design and animation. The path is a discovery.

I believe everything is an experience and the most powerful experiences create meaning. Let's make it meaningful.

I’ve had the privilege to call these wonderful studios home; Digital Kitchen, Trollbäck + Company and currently Flight School. I also teach CG animation at SVA.

Bio

Brian Bowman is a creative director and animator focused on immersive and interactive experiences. His clients have included Spotify, Disney, Microsoft, Ford, FOX and HBO. Along with his role as Executive Creative Director at Flight School, Brian teaches CG animation to students in the graphic design program at NYC’s School of Visual Arts (SVA).

For the new media arts festival CURRENTS, Brian created an immersive video installation, in which full-scale projections visualize a series of extra-consciousness events – from lucid dreaming to near-death experiences. Several of Brian’s title sequences have been included in the MoMA’s permanent film archives and a series of his large-scale projections were installed in the MoMA sculpture garden. His collaboration with the Rubin Museum led to two installations, a film for The Second Buddha: Master of Time exhibition and an immersive experience that mapped the museum’s spiral staircase and 5th floor gallery for the Power of Intention exhibition.

Brian graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Architecture.
